Garage Ceiling Replacement - Pennant Hills, Sydney

Plasterboard, Plaster, Gyprock, Drywall, Sagging, Ceiling, Repair, Replacement, Garage, Pennant Hills, Hornsby, Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle

The first video shows the old ceiling, and how to see the tell tale signs of the ceiling coming away from the trusses.

The second video shows the completed job including the use of ‘Ram Board’ floor protection to leave the garage floor spotless after our messy work is finished.

For this job we had to temporarily unscrew the tracks and motor of the panel lift garage door until the new plasterboard was installed then rescrew them in their original positions.

Knowing how to deal with the garage door without damaging it is an important part of a job like this. The springs that help hold the door in place are under tension and care must be taken not to disturb them and to refix the tracks in the correct position.

Some plasterers require the door to be removed prior to them starting work on the ceiling and refitted after they are finished. This means two visits by a garage door technician and leaving the garage without a lockable door for at least 2 days.

How long does it take?
This job took 1 day to replace the ceiling and 3 hours on the second day to sand the joints and clean up

How much does it cost?
$1,900 including removing and refitting the garage door and disposal of old plasterboard.
